My question was prompted by a recent story I read somewhere of a father who raped his 9 year old daughter.
I hope my readers will excuse me if I said the law is an a** since this man was only given 4 years behind bars after defiling his OWN daughter.
This is not an exception; a serial rapist has been in and out of jail over the same heinous crime. Is it the Kenyan law or its everywhere in the world?
We are just too tired of reading such stories, mothers can never be comfortable whenever their young daughters are out of their sight in some places here in Kenya.
Now in this case where should the daughter have been if not with her father in the mother’s absence yet her own father did this.
Even killing such a person would not be enough according to me but what is worse than killing?
I feel worked up and wish that my pain could be shared and solved when I read such stories, for sure we need serious interventions in dealing with such crimes.
Sexual abuse is the ugliest crime that the world should strive to deal with.
I am so bitter but it’s beyond me.
Thanks for your comment at least you added some little spice it should be done inch by inch, such people should not be shot.
I just finished a post about a 23 year old Saudi woman who was gangraped, and was sentenced to 1 year of jail and 100 lashes. She happens to have gotten pregnant as a result of the rape. So she is being punished twice. Disgusting.
Unfortunately chopping his thing off Romshi, won’t rid him of his aggression. There are other ways of raping.
Thanks a lot for your comment. The law is so unfair and you know what the public should be granted the power to deal with rapists.
It’s control and power that these cowardly men want over their victims for their self centered needs and gratification to intimidate and humiliate the victim and use their victims as recepticals/toilets.
It is a terrible sad problem the world over.
Thanks for your comment, yes its a terrible sad problem the world over. What does an over 35 yr old man see in a 9 yr old girl. Sure its a problem
Thanks for the comment. I wish we would get a million dollar answer for this.
I can feel the enigma of the victim, and upto some extent agree with Romshi, but no civilized law would fix such a punishment for rarest of the rare crime.
However, I do agree with Toby, and decision should be left on the discretion of the victim.
Thanks for your comment in this case if we are to take Toby’s way what do you think the girl could wish for her OWN father.
But which parliament has the ’balls’ to pass such legislation? Certainly not the Kenyan one. Remember how they shot down Njoki Ndungu’s bill for stiffer sentences to rapists? With strange arguments about how ”castrating would deny them their rights to procreate” or how ”hanging would deny families their bread winners”?
Remember the minister for justice laughing himself to tears about ”raping a woman who is already too willing...”?
And the prime minister defending his party supporters against charges of rape etc because ”they were defending democracy”?
Our national psyche is possessed by some truly evil spirits.
I had seen a documentary where a doctor (herself a rape victim), teams up with some more such victims and carries out castration on the doers of this heinious crime. The criminals should be made to feel the agony a woman goes through.

thanks for your comment also thought that would be a good punishment but the victim is left with the pain whether the perpetrator loses his destructive organs or not. For sure i feel bad.
thanks for your comment, when i read this story i imagined the pain the mother is going through and this a man you call a husband, now in this case should the girl be given the role to identify the punishment what can she wish for her own father?

yea this could be one of punishment for the ghastly deed. however, if proved so, I think it should be left on the discretion of the victim as to what punishment the victim gives to the rapist.
