The pain of living with both male and female sex organs
When we wake up every morning, we have a ll reasons to thank our creator for the air we breath. When I heard about Daniel Kighala 24, who is neither a girl nor a boy, I would not imagine the kind of life he lives with such an identity crisis.
He has assumed a male identity, but to date is unsure of his real gender having since childhood lived with both male and female sexual organs.
What is more shocking is that both organs are working, he can erect and at the same time he receives monthly periods.
He does not even have a national identity card, because he is unable to fill the forms where one is supposed to indicate whether they are “male or female”. He is forced to tightly strap breasts that started protruding from his chest when he reached adolescence to ward off gossip and humiliation from his fellow villagers.
His mother was unable to cater for his medical care and Daniel has no option, he has to live with the agony and has no one to turn to. He earns a living through scooping sand at a nearby river in his home area in Taita.

Nature can be cruel sometimes.
I deeply feel for this poor soul to have to live in such a primitive and superstitious society, with out modern medical help.
I hope some one will read this and may be able to help.

I think primitive and supetititous are harsh words but you note i mentioned that Daniel’s mother was unable to cater for his medical expenses and opted to live silently with the problem, this is the time they are speaking out and I beleive now that the his plight has been highlighted, he will get some help.

This is so sad.....i wonder what the poor boy must be going through.....he should be helped by the govt to get the treatment done and keep one identity.

Believe me, this is not at all an entertaining story. It will make the reader sad rather. Local authorities should set up a fund raising camp where we all can help this guy to get the treatment done.

I suppose my wording may seeme harsh but he is suffering and is alienated by the villagers who gossip and make him feel humilated.
They lack compassion, knowledge and understanding about his/her medical condition.
