The cry of an innocent blood

It is a sad and cold day in the Central province of Kenya. Over 27 young men were hacked to death last night allegedly by members of an outlawed sect called Mungiki.

The group seems to be on a revenge mission after last week’s killings of its followers by members of the community tired of its merciless extortion.

Mungiki is associated with any form of evil and every time it hits, the society is left bleeding, shaken, and haunted by the shocking pictures of dismembered bodies of those who fall victim to the sect’s merciless killings.

Thousands in Nyeri East in central province have been thrown into mourning as the police moves in to curb the violence.

It is such a sad state when people from the same community rise against each other. In 2007, the government launched a serious crack down against the sect which has since stood firm and has not relented in its enormous extortion which its also known of. The Kikuyu community from which the sect hails from is now fed up with its ruthless behavior hence the clash that has now killed over 50 youths.

What is causing kenyan youth to be so violent? Is it lack of employment, availability & taking of drugs, opium, heroin?? Is it getting used lawlessness?

It is so saddening that it is the youth committing these crimes... yet they are the leaders of tommorrow. They have turned the city from being known as Nairobi to Nairobery!!

Surely the government can and must help all the youth to look forward to a better future of tolerance and hardwork before it is to late!!!

I must admit that the government there has been a lot of laxity from the government on security issues but also the youth have become too irresponsible, lazy and selfish, they want to harvest where they did not sow. This group called Mungiki has become such a threat to the nation, young lazy men hide under this name and all they do is to extort money from people failure to which you will be signing your own death warrant. For instance they ask for security fees from city estates and whoever fails to comply is robbed by the same people it is a government on its own businesses are also required to pay taxes to them. It is such a sad state since young men are not ready to work and get as living they sit back and thrive on what they extort from the society.
