Sodomy, defilement haunts Kenyan slum

Sodomy and defilement are two words that are sure of attracting any parent’s eyes whenever they rock our headlines.

Such headlines are of course not hard to come by and if such an issue gets off the cameras or the ink for a month or so, the next time we hear of it, its even more traumatizing than the previous one that took us time to dust it off our minds.

Now as the nation struggles to understand just how a priest would be embroiled in a sex scandal involving young boys, a high profile sex ring has been unearthed featuring the ever vulnerable kids dwelling in the slums.

Mukuru kwa Njenga slums is approximately 10 kms from the Nairobi CBD yet this is the epitome of all manner of evil. Children being raised in the slum are under threat and as much as the nation has to contend with the latest insecurity that has left it shaken, what is happening in the slum would be fit for a horror movie.

As the police comb through the slum and its environs in search for two missing children, six more are nursing serious injuries inflicted to them by the defilers who after sexually molesting them, use sharp objects to cause bodily harm to their victims. The patterned cuts leave nothing to imagination, a satanic ritual abuse could be in the offing.

The attackers are said to be wealthy people who drive to the slums with posh cars easily winning the attention of the curious hungry kids who have borne the brunt of the ongoing famine that has hit the country.

They lure the kids to their trap with goodies such as sweets, juice, water and candy. This is just a tip of the iceberg, innocent children in the slums have been forced to come into terms with the harsh realities of life when they are far too young.

It is so unfortunate that our country’s political status has overrun any other important issue, since thsi was highlighted by the media, none of our leaders has spoken about it leave alone beefing any more security personnel to crime hot spots around the city. I wonder what a failed state would be like?

Sexual abuse of children by the priests is observed as an every day headline from one or the other part of the world. People must have gone out of their mind or way too frustrated. Strict laws are required to save children from the devils.

These are the stories which disgusts me. Why are people sick to the core, where they don't even differentiate between natural and unnatural. Sick!

I am thinking this has something to do with satanic rituals.
