Man commits suicide after Arsenal Loss

It is well known that whenever Man U is playing Arsenal, a weird thing has to happen now that the teams are known to be arch rivals.

Omondi could not even wait for the champions League semi-final match on Tuesday night between the two teams to end before snuffing out his life as Arsenal’s defeat was inevitable after Man U’’s two scores after eleven minutes of the game.
Suleiman Omondi, 29, took a rope and hanged himself at the balcony of his house in a Nairobi estate after Arsenal’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United, according to the girlfriend and neighbors.
Omondi allegedly expressed his disappointment at the way Arsenal had been outclassed in the semi-final clash.

Omondi watched the match together with his friends and girlfriend who learnt moments later that the deceased had snuffed out his own life. “He left me in frustration and walked out, but I didn’t expect the displeasure to turn tragic,” his girlfriend said.

Donning a red Arsenal T-shirt, Omondi’s dangling body was removed from the house by police. Locals said Omondi was a soccer fanatic with deep passion for Arsenal.

According to friends, Omondi, who earlier in the game nearly fought with a Manchester United fan, left the venue where they watched the game from in tears but they did not know he was going to commit suicide.

We need to find ways on how to stop this, otherwise, now that european soccer is such a passionate pastime for most people, more murders & suicides are yet to follow

A sad incident. We have many such fans for cricket here.

I remember at times people used to shoot their TVs or themselves when India used to lose the game, specially against Pakistan

Those people must just have an underlying problem that makes them substitute sports as a focus. Having OCD over sports is usually seen as harmless but any obsessive compulsive disorder can be life threatening depending on the severity.
