Does Kenya really need to negotiate with Sudan?

Our people cannot live in fear over harassment by foreigners, the ongoing tension in Turkana West is unwarranted unless someone is sleeping on his job.

The last time I checked we were on collision with Uganda over Migingo Island which we still are not aware to who it belongs even after the millions survey carried out recently.

Southern Sudan forces are said to have claimed a 10 kilometre stretch of Kenya’s territory creating unnecessary tension, this is not expected to be happening.

We appreciate that the K enyan security team will hold a meeting with their Southern Sudan counterparts on how to maintain peace along the border of the two countries which will be followed by a similar meeting also to be held in Moroto in Uganda.

The meeting comes in the wake of rising tension at the border with Sudan following attacks by Toposa pastoralists from Southern Sudan.
The government has proved inept for far too many times in handling issues affecting its people no wonder enemies are taking advantage of the loopholes. Why can’t someone see the reason as to why Kenyans need a rematch of the tax they pay.

One question in mind though is how do you go to an enemy wielding an AK47 with a rose flower.Vijana wa taifa yesterday should have proceeded to migingo after the drill at nyayo stdm and flew back to Nanyuki with pride to demonstrate wako imara angani.

Kabisa I concur with you but its like our leaders are just too comfortable having a good time sleeping on their job.

Both governments of Kenya and South Sudan should come to an agreement to disarm both two communities; Taposa and Turkana.

Disbarment can bring everlasting peace for both two communities and indeed to free trade movement along that narrow border.

I think kenyan nowaday don,t want any sudanese in their soil, thank to kenyan goverment for allowing us to conduct the CPA in their soil, though cattle raider wanted to interfered with the relationship with facilitator from khartoum i don,t think whether Kibaki goverment will allow that to happen.

As a Kenyan living in Eastern Equatoria Southern Sudan, i am very saddened by the on-goings along both sides of the border at Nadapal. Firstly the issue of disarming these two communities would fail dismally. Whereas the Kenyan government has the capacity to provide security to its people but lacks the political will, Southern Sudan has other priorities having come out of a twenty plus year civil war.I believe Kenya should get its house in order;improve infrastructure in the north which will boost trade in the area and into Sudan and encouragement of the local people to venture into other sources of livelihood . The fighting between the two communities is basically in pursuit of food and pasture. No matter how many Jet fighters you send to Nadapal, the situation is not likely to change.
NB:Kenya needs South Sudan more. There are more Kenyan economic refugees in South Sudan than Sudanese political refugees in Kenya.
