It has been a newsful day since 6 am when Thomas Cholmondeley, the white Kenyan aristocrat jailed in May for killing a black poacher, was freed three months ahead of the end of his eight-month sentence.
Hours later, the most infamous head of the dreaded Mungiki sect, was also set free following a Nolle Proseque entered by AG Amos Wako. Later the sect leader one Maina Njenga was baptized by Jesus is Alive Ministries Bishop Margaret Wanjiru. Does this mean that he ceases to be the head of the cruel sect known for its vicious beheadings to anyone who goes against its draconian devilish and selfish demands? We would whole-heartedly accept Njenga back to our society if only he swallowed his pride and announced in a televised speech that he was and has deserted the sect and maybe calling on some politicians known to be ardent followers of his gang to follow suit.
Cholmondeley on the other hand should now be in a position to live with his neighbours as a humble member of the same society having faced the same accusation twice, the third time would be disastrous and life threatening to him.
